Family of James Wardill and Elizabeth (nee Dawshead)
James Wardill (1810 to About 1885) the fourth son of John Wardill (1773 - 1833) and Elizabeth Dowsland. James married Elizabeth Dawshead on March 11 1832 at St. Peters Leeds. James moved to Leeds (where he married), returned and then joined brother John in Montreal. James left England about 1840. They went into business together in the building trade and judging by Johns letter to Dowsland in 1846 the announcement of their partnership seems to have been important enough to appear in a local paper. He says: You say that you see in the papers of me and Jim being partners, it is right and so far nothing has appeared to cause any difference between us. James and Elizabeth had five children.
